Some fun statistics about our families, matching and our website:

All numbers are approximate, as not everyone enters all information.

What is the average wait time from adding a posting, to matching (with half-siblings and/or donors) on the DSR?  The average wait is 199 days.

69.5% of DSR posts yield matches.

78.2% of DSR users, who have matched, matched instantly. The more users we have, the shorter the average wait time becomes!
What is the average age of all offspring currently listed in posts?  13.2 years old.

What is the average age of children when they are first posted? 7.7 years old.
What are the percentages for the number of children posted per family?  76.2% have one child posted, 19.9% have two children posted, 3.3% have three children posted, and .4% have four children posted and .2% have more than four children posted.

94.2% of DSR posts are families that used sperm donation, 4.9% of families used egg donation and .9% of families used embryo donation.

December 2015: The majority of donor offspring on the DSR are children under 20, but we have almost 3,000 donor conceived adults on the DSR too: we have 3 offspring in their 70's, 27 in their 60's, 67 in their 50's, 164 in their 40's, 603 in their 30's and 1,989 in their 20's. (NOTE: these numbers do not include the thousands of DSR members who have not posted.)

We average around 12,000 visitors and a million hits per month on the Donor Sibling Registry website.

A little background on DSR parents and donors.

While we have never asked DSR members about their family type, religion, marital status, age, education, etc., on the website, we have included some of these these questions in several several research surveys over the years.

We've compiled some of those numbers to help present an idea of who we are

*In 2007, we stopped counting a family unit as one member, and began counting the individuals represented on the site.

The above graph shows number of matched people.
